MIDS Sports Week to be conducted soon
Ok so our respectable Principal Dr. B K Reddy Sir has accepted the proposal of conducting a sports week in the college, which would include all the 3 batches of students and also the professors who are very much interested in getting involved into sports.
The college people, all including the students, professors and the other staff were very busy with the other things, except only during the Freshers Day celebrations that was celebrated a few months earlier. The students are now very happy that the sports meet is going to happen very soon, probably during the ending days of November 2008.
Can’t talk much about it until the final dates are announced, and later i would update the blog with the latest photos of our college and a couple dental camps that were organized a week back, and i was one of those who went to the camps, that was an awesome learning experience.

Women’s week symposium in MIDS
Women’s status in the society has always been a point of concern in India, and although women have been given many rights and privileges, they are not aware of most of the points and rights, and are still under the control of men mostly when seen in villages and rural area. Rural population has always shown men’s domination over women.
To make people aware of the facts, our college Vice-principal Dr. Nanda Kumar had organized a symposium in the college campus, inviting chief guest Sree Mangari Rajender and advocates Mr. Shankar Rao and Mr. Raj Kumar.
Each of them talked things related to women rights and importance of women and womens’ day. Here is a brief summary of what all happened in the symposium -
Dr. Nanda Kumar talked about the present situation of women in our country, and taken the example of the number of girls students in our college showing the domination of women in the field of education. Also mentioned that women have been given certain rights and reservations in education, employment etc.
Following that speech, Mr. Shankar Rao, Mr. Raj Kumar and chief guest Sree Mangari Rajender also talked on the same topic and provided good points regarding the present status and good condition of women in our country. Our Anatomy professor Dr. Aruna also shared her views regarding womens’ rights and womens’ week. Some insights -

One of our classmates Spandana, ended the speech session with a good presentation sighting examples of some points like why still women are under men’s dominance. Then the symposium ended with Vote of thanks by Dr. Vishalakshi, Professor of our college. Was great to be a part of the symposium and thanks to Dr. Nanda Kumar for organizing it.
